We were successful in getting Lotteries funding, along with support from The Luminaries mini series and Auckland Council to carry out a
Coastal Weeds Project. The target being Bone Seed and Pampas Grass on the coastal cliffs. Due to the difficult terrain the spraying is being done by a helicopter by local company Skywork.

This project is underway with both Bone Seed and Pampas having received their first doses. Due to the drought and the COVID‐19 lockdown the Pampas Grass spraying was delayed.

We have also been hindered in our opportunities to carry out ground surveys to measure the success. However, casual observations have shown a reasonable knock down of the target species.
